Hp Envy 17 3D

Hp Envy 17 3D

Taking about the leading notebook these days, HP envy 17 tops the chart. The variant has outnumbered other brands in its section with some mesmerizing specifications and attributes create another world for this model. Envy 17 is one of newest member to the HP notebook family which offers the Intel core i7 processor. It is a bigger and an enhanced version of the magnesium-alloy of the 14-inch variant. The 14-inch net book from HP was a killer, stirred electricity in my body. So, when I heard about the echelon being raised by HP, it made me enthralled and awaited for this version to pop out on my hands.
Here are some specification about the new HP envy 17 which my verdict.
Appearance and Design
Starting with the look, envy looks radiant and vividly designed. There is nothing new with the design as compared to the other and previous version of envy. If you have tried your hands over the 14-inch version then you won’t find any dissimilarity or uniqueness. Hp has used the same magnesium-alloy framework, etched lid, and the up market aluminum edges. Every brand tries to give the lusterless metallic feel to their notebook and we all seem to love that. Excluding the Mac book, envy stands on the top in the list of light notebooks. It is available in carbon relic color.

Technical Description
I really appreciate the configuration used by HP and for me it is the most exciting section to describe envy. Apart from Intel core i7 processor, the envy has loads of features to boast. The variant comes with 1.60 GHz speed with the Intel HM55 chipset. HP has planted 8GB DDR3 of standard memory or RAM. Internal drives displays the lethal 1X2 TB SATA HDD (Hard disk) working at 5200rpm, optical drives on the other hand are boosted with a Blu-ray ROM integrated with Super Multi doubled layer DVD rewritable. Infused high range graphics makes it more combative as envy has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 along with 1GB dedicated GDDR5 for crystallized display. It has a diagonal display size of 17.3” with Full High-Definition HP Ultra View Infinity display.
Coming to the expansion slots, the model features 1VGA port, HDMI port, Stereo headphone-out/microphone-in combo jack, Ethernet port, Super speed USB  3.0 port, and 3 USB 2.0 ports. The slots it offers can glue every trendiest accessory in town with 5 in 1 Digital Media reader for secure plugging of digital cards, memory cards, and picture cards.
The envy offer HP True Vision HD Webcam with integrated subwoofer along beats sound system.
Don’t worry as it is the latest from HP, so it has an enhanced Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability.
Power and Weight
I must say that other brands will envy the HP envy as it is powerful offering 6-cell Lithium –Ion battery. It will last more than two hours while running high graphic rather new generation of games.
Miscellaneous
HP nowadays is using the classy keyword which is made from rubber, looks very elite and gives a stylish persona to the notebook. I was a bit disappointed with the touchpad. The touchpad offered a niggling pain with its slippery tone.
Verdict
Envy is the brightest high definition notebook oozing loads of panache while snubbing every other series competing in the same configuration. With an external mouse, it will surely deliver the best deal to you coming at a reasonable pricing up to $1,599. Envy slots a high position in my list with the hype of it replacing a desktop looks a slight blur. I’ll rate it 7.5 out of 10.

Google Chrome OS netbook review

 Google Chrome OS netbook review

Google Chrome NetBook
We’ve had a play with Google’s Chrome OS running on an Intel Atom-powered netbook here at CES.
Of course, we’re no strangers to Chrome OS here on TechRadar, having seen some features demonstrated previously and having installed a very early version of the OS.
But this is the first time we’ve been able to play with a near-ready (or perhaps even ready) build on a netbook.

Touring the Intel booth, this netbook was plumped in between the Jolicloud netbook and other Atom-based devices, including some kit running MeeGo.
Indeed, Intel has quite a lot of Googleness on its booth this year – there are also several Google TV boxes.

Google’s new OS is certainly basic and, as our Intel representative told us, it “takes you a while” to get used to the fact you have no standard desktop – you simply have a browser.

How useful Chrome OS is in practice remains to be seen – it’s so reliant on connectivity. Don’t know about you, but keeping a constant connection on mobile broadband in the UK can be difficult if you’re moving around. And without connectivity, Chrome OS isn’t that useful. While the offline features in Gmail should keep you going, we think Chrome OS will only be OK in this regard if proper offline support for Google Docs is reintroduced – Google axed offline access as it moved away from Google Gears.
At the same time as announcing the Chrome Web Store in December, Google said it was “expecting to deliver” offline Google Docs support “early in 2011. For those who used [sic] offline, we are bringing back the much improved feature by taking advantage of advancements in modern browser technology like HTML5.”
The Chrome Web Store is, of course, also very much part of Google’s strategy for Chrome OS.

Rumors of a Chrome OS netbook first cropped up last December, but it seems as though the wait might be over soon: according to Engadget, Google's going to make the laptop official Dec. 7th. Though maybe not easy to get.

There aren't many details available for now, and it does seem a little odd that there's been no media event scheduled yet. But even that makes a little more sense given the rumored scope of the rollout: supposedly only 65,000 units will be made available on a friends and family basis. In other words: they're not ready to sell it yet, and hyping a new product too early could create some confusion around the holiday shopping season.
What can we expect from a Chrome netbook, other than a cloud-based operating system and web apps aplenty? Previously rumored hardware specs have been all over the place, but recent reports have indicated that it'll house the same Atom processor found in most netbooks these days. Hopefully we won't have to wait long to see what else is in store.
